Diaper Folding 101
There are many different ways to fold and use Little Pea Pods Pre-fold and Contour type diapers.
Listed here are the most popular folding methods. Experiment and find out which one works the best for you.
You never know, you may just come up with your own signature diaper fold!
Contour diapers, while similar to rectangular pre-folds in the job they are meant to do - are simply put on the baby, the bottom center (or front of the diaper) is brought up between the legs, and then the sides are brought forward and the whole thing is kept in place with the diaper wrap.

| The Basic Diaper Fold | |
| 1) Lay out your prefold diaper so that the stitch lines run horizontally (side to side or East to West). The sewn, colored edges should be to your left and right. | 2) Fold the diaper in half (bring the colored edges together). |
| 3) Fold the diaper in half once again. | 4) Lay the folded diaper inside the diaper cover. Lay the baby onto the two pieces. |
| 5) Bring the front of the diaper and wrap up between the baby's legs and fasten snugly with the snaps or the velcro tabs. |

The Basic Angel Wing Fold #1
This fold gives your diaper excellent absorbency and a nice trim fit. Fold the front portion down as much as you need to protect baby's umbilical cord.
| 1) Lay out your prefold diaper so that the stitch lines run vertical (top to bottom or North to South). The sewn, colored edges should be to the top and bottom. | 2) Fold the sides of the diaper in and across the center to create a tri-fold. You can fold it as wide or as narrow as you need for the diaper to fit in the diaper wrap. |
| 3) Take the bottom edge and fold up approximately a third of the diaper. This portion will go to the front of the diaper wrap. | 4) Unfold each of the sides above, out from the center, to create wings. |
| 5) Place this folded diaper inside the diaper cover before placing your baby on the whole thing. | 6) Bring the front folded area up between the baby's legs. Bring the wings forward to overlap the sides of the front folded section. |

The Basic Angel Wing Fold #2
| 1) Lay out your diaper cover so that it is fully extended and opened. | 2) Lay the prefold diaper, completely flat, on top of the diaper cover. Line up the top of the diaper with the top of the diaper cover. Now fold up the bottom portion of the diaper until the bottom fold lines up with the diaper wrap. |
| 3) Fold the sides of the diaper in to meet at the center line. | 4) Unfold the top portion of the diaper to form wings (as done in Angel Fold #1). Place your baby onto the diaper and bring the diaper and cover up between the babys legs. Bring the side wings forward to overlap the front folded portion. |

The Bikini Twist
| 1) Lay out one diaper, flat. | 2) Turn one end over, twisting the diaper. (It might be easier to twist the diaper with the baby laying on it to hold it down and in place - just remember to lay the diaper wrap down under the twist before you lay Baby down.). |
| 3) Lay the twist onto the diaper cover and lay baby down onto both pieces - bring the front piece up between the baby's legs and bring the back corners forward to overlap the front. If the diaper is long, you can fold it down until it will fit into the diaper wrap. | 4) Fasten the diaper and wrap snugly onto the baby with the Velcro tabs or snap closures. |

How to Use A Diaper With a Doubler
You can also fold up your prefold as desired and just lay the diaper doubler on top of the folded diaper so that it is against the baby's skin when it is fastened onto your baby. This method is preferred with our Keep Em Dry Doublers, which have a layer of fabric that wicks moisture away from your baby so they stay feeling drier, longer.
| 1) Place the doubler up the center of the diaper. | 2) Follow the directions for the basic Angel Fold #1, except that you have a doubler in between the folds of your diaper. |
| 3) Open the upper wings. | 4) Place your baby onto the diaper and bring the diaper and cover up between the babys legs. Bring the side wings forward to overlap the front folded portion. |

Using Prefold Diapers As Doublers
| 1) Place two diapers, on top of each other, flat out. | 2) Take and fold the edges of the top diaper into the middle in a tri-fold fashion. |
| 3) Fold the bottom diaper around the top diaper - just bring the edges up to meet in the center. It's okay if the edges overlap. | 4) Put the diapers on top of a diaper wrap, lining up the tops of the two items, and fold the bottom portion up until it fits into the diaper wrap. Fold out your wings as you did with the Angel Fold. |
| 5) Place your baby on the diaper and bring the diaper up between the baby's legs. Bring the wings to overlap the front, and finally bring up the front of the diaper wrap. | 6) Fasten the diaper wrap onto the baby with the Velcro or the Snap closures. |
